God Loves You St John 3:16
The Church of God of Prophecy is a vibrant, worldwide body of believers, united in worship, working hand-in-hand to share God’s love and a message of hope to the brokenhearted. The Church of God of Prophecy has over one-and-a-half million members, worshiping in over 10,000 churches our missions in 125 nations of the world. Nearly 90% of our global membership is outside of North America. The Church of God movement began over one hundred years ago in the humble hearts of earnest believers in the rural mountains of Cherokee County, North Carolina. Following a miracle-filled revival that took place in a schoolhouse near Camp Creek in 1886, a small congregation formed a Christian Union to pray and study the scriptures.Soon led by an energetic young pastor from Indiana named A.J. Tomlinson, the group was more formally organized in 1903 into the Church of God and relocated its headquarters to neighboring Cleveland, Tennessee the following year. From Appalachia to the World, the century that followed saw great growth in all the branches of this movement. From the beginning, these spiritual pioneers traced their roots to the New Testament church and considered themselves a continuation of the Spirit-filled Christianity exhibited in the book of Acts. This desired connection with early Christian expression continues today with a mandate that all church decisions be committed to prayer and based on scripture. In contemporary theological terms, the Church of God of Prophecy is a Protestant, Evangelical, Wesleyan holiness, Pentecostal movement that believes in man’s freewill regarding salvation. working closely with various local denominations to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the community and across the world.
Family ministry director appointed to assist in the nurturing and developing cohesion for families within the fellowship and wider community.
To be a prayer movement focusing on encouraging every born again believer to unite in upgrading their prayer tool boxes through teaching. We seek to promote and facilitate prayer, intercession and fasting and that prayer becomes a lifestyle in order to bring spiritual renewal and transformation in our families, churches, communities and nation.
Loving submission to God is worship. This is essentially a spiritual, inner state, which has external acts as a consequence.
Each congregation meets regularly for corporate worship, and individuals are encouraged to make time for worship with the family and by themselves alone with God.
(John 4:21-24, Psalms 95:1-6)
All that we have is God-given; we are stewards of the time, talents, money and resources with which God has entrusted us.
In love for both God and others we are responsible to ensure that we use them for the good of all.
We actively promote the ministry of giving in terms of tithes, offerings, and volunteer time.
Our love for people means loving the whole person. We are therefore as interested in the social well being of our ‘neighbour’, as in the saving of the soul.
To this end, our congregations engage in a variety of social endeavours.
(3 John 2; Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 10:30-37)
Our love for fellow human beings inspires in us a strong desire to see them fully restored to life in God through Jesus Christ.
We are therefore committed to the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ by all means available to us.
Prayer is our God given mandate.
We are called by God to pray for each other, our community, our country and our world.
